History

4T’s Brewery, stands for The Tavern’s Tasty Tipples. It was established in 2010 on a 0.5 BBL Kit with John Wilkinson the founder, owner and brewer. He brewed over 350 beers on that plant in his garage, brewing 7 days a week, the demand became more than he could handle, he then upsized to a 5 BBL kit in May 2012 situated in Runcorn, the new kit was once brewed on by Blueball Brewery.

John carried on working alone with some help every now and again cleaning cask and general cleaning duties. He never repeated a brew each one was unique brewing a wide range of styles and experimenting different techniques. But by December John brewed 42 Brews on the kit with demand still growing. John decided to create a core range of beers KEEP CALM, WISE, STACK, SIDE, LOADED & MASTER.

John then made a decision to employ Jordan (BOB) Millington full time in January 2013. Jordan had just turned 20 years of age at the time of employment. John’s plan was to teach Jordan the ways of brewing so he can take the role of head brewer and John can concentrate on the sales and delivery side. Jordan had to run before he could walk as in February 2013, John injured his self, resulting in 8 weeks off. Jordan was left on his own with the running of the brewery with a little help from Blueball’s brewer Danny, and regular check-ups from John. Jordan kept up the good work from what he was taught. Once John returned to work Jordan continued to brew.

Jordan then was creating his own brews, which in November 2013 his Not To Stout Bob 5.3% ABV reached the final of Champion Beer of Cheshire, didn’t finish were we hoped but still a great achievement for a young brewer, John then told Jordan to just crack on with it which he did and in February 2014, just over a year on Jordan was upgraded to Head Brewer during November 2014 he brewed The New Range, consisting of 4 beers, Pale Ale 3.7%, APA 4.0%, IPA 4.6% & Stout 5.0%. In September 2015 4T’s represented Cheshire in the Maris Otter 50 Beer Festival in Norwich, celebrating 50 years of maris otter, which 50 breweries WORLDWIDE were selected to brew a one off beer, our special beer named Ratio Terms, is an anagram of Maris Otter. From then the brewery has made leaps and bounds moving back to Warrington in October 2015.
